Have been testing the Firefox 3 Beta till rc1 for a month now. The performance is quite good. I can’t wait to check the release version soon and have all my favourite plug-ins/add-ons to test with.
Now I am making this post from my CentOS 5.0 Gnome Desktop with the Linux version of Firefox 3 rc1. Seems like looks the same like it runs on my Windows XP and Mac OSX Leopard.

Still deciding on what specs to go for the web server since pricing coming down a lot. Should I choose the single Intel Xeon Quad Core 5420 or 2 of the same processors? It seems that I cannot find any information in any search engine.
I have been thinking of I may not need to go for 2 x Quad Core, there are few reasons
- High CPU Loading seems like not really happened due to the site we served on this server mostly will be private
- Even I have super power 2 x Quad Core but can the 100mbps LAN able to be fully utilized?
- With the money saving for the 2nd processor, I may able to get a Mac Mini as for backup
If anyone got some good suggetion then please let me know.
The other specs for this Dell PowerEdge 1950 will be
- 4GB (2 x 2GB) memory
- 2 x 300GB SAS 15K rpm HDD
- Dual Gigabit Ethernet
- Redundant Power Supply
Cheers

Just installed the Windows XP Service Pack 3 (316MB download). Seems like nothing different other than showing SP3 in the system properties
I did installed the SP3 MUI pack (for Multi Language) which is about 9MB since I am using Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Japanese language.
I saw some blog saying that may have problem of computer keep restarting if you are using AMD processor, BUT I am using my good old AMD X2 4400 cpu without any problem for the first few boots.
I will keep testing it right now and will blog here if any problem found.
